Cutting out meat and fish has made me a bit more adventurous in the food department. One of the more quirky sources of inspiration is the raw food cookbook created by vegan lead singer of Sigur Ros, Jonsi, and his boyfriend Alex. The Good Heart Cookbook doesn’t actually involve much conventional cooking, if any. It’s a collection of raw food recipes, all involving the electrical magic of a blender to pulverise various ingredients into pastes and purees of various consistencies.

One welcome addition to my breakfast routine is the Gojan Daginn Super Smoothie. All you do is whizz together:

1 banana; 1 apple; 1 and a half cups of frozen berries; 2 cups of cold water (although I use less); and 4 handfuls of dark green leaves.

I’ve been using Spinach so far, but today tried it with Rocket and much preferred it with this dynamic peppery kick. They’ve also made little videos demonstrating the recipes which are rather entertaining.
