FUßGÄNGER:
"pedestrian"; "flâneur"; a "gentleman stroller of city streets"; "lounger"; "saunterer"; "loafer"; a "person who walks the city in order to experience it"; an "idle man-about-town"; a "complete philosophical way of living and thinking".
The walls are the desk against which he presses his notebooks; newsstands are his libraries and the terraces of cafés are the balconies from which he looks down on his household after his work is done. -Walter Benjamin,"The Flâneur"

Second batch of #febphotoaday:
Day 6 - Dinner. Living near Kottbusser Damm (the Turkish fast food centre of Berlin) I’ve become quite partial to PIDE - a sort of banana shaped pizza, folded in at the edges, with spinach and feta inside. It’s very impressive watching them being rolled out from a small ball of dough. It’s sliced up and served hot. Scrummy.
Day 7 - Button. A light switch in my apartment.
Day 8 - Sun. The afternoon winter sun falling on the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.
Day 9 - Front Door. This is the front door to what has become my office. It’s the Berlin Brezel Company, just along my road Friedelstraße. They do a particularly good cherry cheesecake and free wifi. And strong coffee. All set.
Day 10 - Self Portrait. From the wonderful Fotoautomats dotted around Berlin. Weserstraße, discovered another one a few blocks away from me.
